Starting this Monday, households across Karnataka will spend less on their daily dairy essentials, as Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF) has announced a price cut on several popular Nandini products. The reduction comes after the central govt slashed GST on essential food items from 12 per cent to 5 per cent, prompting KMF to pass on the benefit to consumers. With this move, widely used dairy products such as Nandini ghee, butter, and lassi will now cost less. For families that rely on Nandini’s wide range of products, the announcement brought some relief. “This is welcome news. Even a small cut in daily essentials like ghee and butter makes a difference to monthly household budgets,” said a resident of Bengaluru. KMF confirmed that an official order on revised rates was already issued, ensuring consumers will start seeing the new prices in stores from this week. The price drop is expected to benefit lakhs of households across Karnataka, where Nandini products form an integral part of everyday diets.
