Boy dies as scooter rams car in Bengaluru

Bengaluru: A 13-year-old boy died and his younger brother escaped with injuries when their gearless scooter rear-ended a car near Harapanahalli in Jigani, Bengaluru Rural, Friday night. The victim is M Rehan, and his sibling, M Ayan, 10, is undergoing treatment in a hospital. Their father, Manoj Ravat, works as a carpenter in Bihar, and their mother, Sultana, is a housekeeping staffer in Dubai.The gearless scooter is registered in the name of Rehan’s grandmother P Mumtaz. The accident occurred when the brothers were riding back home after offering prayers at a mosque on the occasion of Eid-e-Milad. “Rehan, who was riding at maximum speed, rammed a car from the rear. Since he had no helmet, Rehan sustained serious head injuries and died instantly,” an investigating officer said.Cops registered a case against Mumtaz for letting a minor ride a bike.
