Fresh off their intimate wedding celebrations, Aamir Khan and his new wife, Gauri Spratt have reportedly jetted off to Melbourne. The actor, who headed down under for professional commitments, is reportedly turning the work trip into a fun family holiday.

According to reports on Deccan Chronicle, Aamir and Gauri are travelling with their sons. Aamir, who shares Azad wth ex-wife Kiran Rao, will also have Gauri’s son, Quinn, joining them on the trip. Besides tending to his work commitments, the actor is reportedly doubling up the trip as a post-wedding getaway and an opportunity for the boys to spend time together and also allow Aamir to spend quality time with Quinn.The Melbourne visit comes less than a week after Aamir and Gauri tied the knot in an intimate registered ceremony at the actor’s Bandra residence on July 5. The private wedding was attended by only a handful of close friends, family members, and their children.

Aamir Khan to attend Indian Film Festival of Melbourne

Following the holiday, Aamir is expected to attend the 2026 Indian Film Festival of Melbourne, where he has received a Best Actor nomination for his performance in ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’. The festival recently unveiled its nominations, with Aamir competing for the Best Performance (Male), alongside Ahaan Pandey, Bhuman Bhargav Das, Dulquer Salmaan, Mammootty, Ranveer Singh, Rishab Shetty and Sanjay Mishra.The Best Performance (Female) category includes Aneet Padda, Kalyani Priyadarshan, Kirti Kulhari, Neena Gupta, Rajshri Deshpande, Rani Mukerji, Rituparna Sengupta and Yami Gautam Dhar.

About the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne

The festival, which will be held from August 13 to August 23, 2026, will select the winners with the help of a jury made up of members from Australia’s film industry and cultural sector. Along with the awards ceremony, this year’s festival will also feature film premieres, special screenings, panel discussions, masterclasses and industry events.
