Mandya: In a tragic road accident, a 15-year-old student lost his life and two of his classmates were injured near Devirahalli Gate on Tuesday evening. The deceased is Varshith, son of Nagamma and a resident of Dalavayi Kodihalli village near Halaguru. Varshith was a Class 9 student of Karnataka Public School, Halaguru.The incident occurred after school hours when Varshith, along with his classmates Samarth and Dikshith, alighted from their bus and were walking home by the side of the road. A car coming from Malavalli side hit the three students from behind.Varshith died on the spot due to the impact of the vehicle running into them, while Samarth and Dikshith sustained injuries. They were immediately shifted to Mandya District Hospital, where they are undergoing treatment.Halaguru police have registered a case, and investigation is on. The car driver was also admitted to a hospital, police said.
