Court tells prison officials to provide actor Darshan TV in his cell

Bengaluru: The 57th Additional City Civil and Sessions Court Thursday instructed Central Prison officials to install a television in actor Darshan’s cell after he said he was feeling lonely.Darshan, his friend Pavithra Gowda and 15 others are in jail in connection with Chitradurga’s Renukaswamy murder case. The court issued witness summons to the victim’s parents to appear on Dec 17 for trial proceedings.The prosecution team, led by special public prosecutor Prasanna Kumar P, gave a list of witnesses and evidence to the court to begin trial. The prosecution asked the court to summon Renukaswamy’s father and mother, who are witness nos. 7 and 8, respectively. However, Darshan’s advocate objected and asked the court to consider their request to call witnesses according to the order number. The prosecution, however, argued they can call any witnesses in any order. The court considered the prosecution’s point and issued the summons.The court also granted interim bail for four days to one of the accused, Pradosh, to attend his father’s tithi (lunar day).
