Bengaluru: As part of Freshotsava 2025 celebrations, Mahadeva PU College, Hosakote, hosted a session on financial literacy for Gen Z, as part of TOI in Campus Partnership Lecture series on Saturday.Tejas GV from wealth management firm Cerebral Advisors addressed students, giving a mix of practical advice, anecdotes, and humour, highlighting the importance of money management. Mohan Kumar, deputy director of public institutions (DDPI) Bengaluru Rural, Mahadeva PU College president Ramanjini, secretary and principal Ramanatha MM, along with trustee members, were present at the event.Tejas encouraged students to cultivate the habit of saving small amounts daily, even from routine expenses such as soaps or toothpaste. He urged them to start investing in equities in small amounts, pointing out how systematic investment plans benefit from compounding over time.He also underlined the importance of learning money management early to build a stable financial future. Founded in 2016 with an initial strength of 150 students, Mahadeva PU College has expanded to 1,700 students, including 550 enrolled in degree courses.
