NTA schedules UGC NET re-test after technical issues at Jalandhar examination centre

UGC NET June 2026 re-exam: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced a re-examination for a section of candidates affected by technical issues during the UGC NET June 2026 examination at the CT Group of Institutions Examination Centre in Jalandhar. The disruption was reported during Shift I of the examination conducted on June 22, 2026.In an official notice issued by NTA, the agency stated that the issue was reported by Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), which had been identified for conducting the examination. The agency clarified that the inconvenience was limited to candidates at the affected centre who, despite being present, were unable to take or complete the examination because of the technical problems.Re-examination announced for affected Shift I candidatesAccording to the notice, only those candidates who were present at the CT Group of Institutions Examination Centre, Jalandhar, and could not appear for or complete the examination will be eligible for the re-test. NTA expressed regret over the inconvenience caused and confirmed that the affected candidates would be given another opportunity to take the examination.

The re-examination has been scheduled for July 5, 2026, at 3:00 PM. It will be conducted at the same examination centre in Jalandhar where the disruption occurred.NTA clarifies exam not cancelled nationwideThe agency clarified that the UGC NET June 2026 examination has not been cancelled across the country. The technical issue was reported only at the Jalandhar examination centre, and the decision for a re-examination applies solely to the affected Shift I candidates from that venue.NTA stated that the measure was being taken to ensure that candidates who were unable to complete the test for reasons beyond their control are able to appear for the examination.Revised admit cards to be issuedNTA has informed candidates that further details regarding the re-examination will be communicated through revised admit cards. These admit cards will contain information related to the examination schedule, reporting time and other instructions for eligible candidates.Candidates affected by the disruption have been advised to monitor the official NTA website for updates regarding the release of revised admit cards and other examination-related announcements.The official notice, issued by the Director (Exams), NTA, confirmed that the re-examination arrangement applies only to the affected candidates from Shift I at the Jalandhar centre.
