Mangaluru: Over the past three years, the Yaksha Dhruva Patla Foundation, led by Patla Satish Shetty, sponsored free accident insurance for thousands of artistes belonging to the Yakshagana, theatre, Daivaradhane, and Kambala community, in association with Mangaluru postal division. An insurance compensation of Rs 10 lakh each was handed over to the families of Yakshagana artistes Anand and Praveeth, who lost their life in accidents.At a function held at the office of the senior superintendent of post offices in Balmatta, Patla Satish Shetty was the chief guest, who handed over the cheques to the families. Speaking on the occasion, he said that the foundation implemented various welfare schemes for artistes and that many artistes and their families benefitted. He added that this would not have been possible without the dedicated efforts of all the office-bearers and members of the foundation. He also thanked the postal department staff for not only helping in issuing the insurance policies with utmost sincerity, but also ensuring quick settlement.Sudhakar Mallya, senior superintendent of post offices, Mangaluru Division, congratulated the Patla Foundation and Mangalore Press Club for their efforts in extending postal services as a form of public service.
