MADIKERI: Rain continued across Kodagu district on Sunday, disturbing normal life.The average rainfall in the district from January to date is 2342 mm, while last year, it was 2395 mm during the same period. The Cauvery catchment areas in Madikeri taluk received the highest rainfall this year in the district. The rainfall from January to date is 3531 mm in Madikeri taluk, while last year, it was 3378 mm.Rainfall from January to date is 2219 mm in Virajpet taluk. Last year, it was 2186 mm. This year, the record shows 33 mm more rainfall in Virajpet taluk.In Somwarpet taluk, this year it is 2656 mm. Last year, it was 2712 mm. Rainfall in this taluk this year is 56 mm less compared to last year.Ponnampet taluk has so far received 2137 mm. Last year, during the same period, it was 2237 mm. The rainfall this year is 100 mm less compared to last year in Ponnampet taluk.Rainfall in Kushalnagar taluk is 1208 mm this year. Last year, the rainfall was 1462 mm, which is 254 mm less this year compared to last year. Meanwhile, IMD has declared an orange alert for two days in Kodagu.HARANGI WATER LEVELThe maximum level of Harangi Reservoir is 2859 feet. Today’s water level is 2857.55 feet. Water inflow is 2786 cusecs, and outflow is 1187 cusecs to the river.
