Chitradurga: A woman, Sunitha, aged 25, was killed by her husband, Lingaraj, 32, on Oct 6, 2025, between 5.30pm and 8pm, on the outskirts of Kanjanahalli village within the jurisdiction of Abbinahole police station in Chitradurga district. Lingaraj, suspecting her fidelity, murdered her and set her body on fire using petrol. During the incident, he also sustained burn injuries and is receiving treatment at Chitradurga district hospital. A case was registered at Abbinahole police station under various sections of BNS, based on a complaint filed by the deceased woman’s father, Mallappa. The investigation is ongoing, and police are collecting evidence.
