Bengaluru: The govt Thursday announced the long-pending lifetime achievement awards in cinema, honouring veteran actress and former minister Jayamala and acclaimed director MS Sathyu, among others.Named after cinema legends Dr Rajkumar, Puttanna Kanagal and Dr Vishnuvardhan, the awards for calendar year 2020 were conferred on Jayamala (Dr Rajkumar Award), MS Sathyu (Puttanna Kanagal Award) and senior photographer ‘Pragathi’ Ashwathanarayan (Dr Vishnuvardhan Award).
Similarly, for year 2021, the lifetime achievement awards were announced for veteran producer Sa Ra Govindu, director K Shivarudraiah and actor-producer MK Sundarraj. Each of the three awards carries a cash prize of Rs 5 lakh and gold medal weighing 50 grams.
