India wicketkeeper Yastika Bhatia found a unique way to motivate off-spinner Vaishnavi Sharma during the third women’s ODI against Zimbabwe in Vadodara on Wednesday, borrowing a famous dialogue from the Hindi film Gangs of Wasseypur 2.As Vaishnavi troubled the Zimbabwe batters, Yastika was heard saying from behind the stumps: “Vaishu (Vaishnavi) sabka badla lena hai. Baap ka, dada ka, bhai ka,”The line is a reference to a famous dialogue delivered by Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s character Faizal in Gangs of Wasseypur 2: “Baap ka, dada ka, bhai ka, sabka badla lega re tera Faizal.” In the film, Faizal says it to signal that he will avenge the murders of his father, grandfather and brother by his family’s rivals.Vaishnavi responded with a five-wicket haul as India bowled Zimbabwe out for 131 in the third ODI. The left-arm spinner finished with figures of five for 39 in 10 overs, completing her maiden five-wicket haul in ODIs with the final ball of her spell. The 20-year-old had taken four wickets in the second ODI at the same venue.Vaishnavi repeatedly tossed the ball up and tempted the Zimbabwe batters into playing their shots, leading to their collapse. Opener Modester Mupachikwa was the visitors’ top scorer with 37 off 48 balls.Zimbabwe’s problems began early, with a series of soft dismissals putting the team under pressure. The visitors had struggled with the bat throughout their white-ball tour of India.Pacer Sayali Satghare struck in her first over, with opener Loryn Phiri edging the ball faintly down the leg side. Number three Chipo Mugeri-Tiripano was the next to fall after cutting a regulation delivery from Shafali Verma straight to the fielder at point.Vaishnavi then took control of the innings. She first dismissed Beloved Biza before getting the better of Mupachikwa, who had been in good form. Anticipating that the opener would step out of her crease, Vaishnavi bowled a wide, flighted delivery. Mupachikwa was stumped by Yastika.Vaishnavi claimed her fifth and final wicket off the last ball of her spell. Nyasha Gwanzura attempted a slog sweep, but the ball ricocheted off her pads and hit the stumps. While Vaishnavi led the bowling effort, Kranti Gaud and Satghare picked up two wickets each. With the series already secured, India made three changes to their playing XI for the third ODI, bringing in Harleen Deol, Yastika and Gaud. Gaud had been rested for the second ODI.
