Brahma Kumaris to host Shivaratri Mahotsav, spiritual exhibition in Mysuru

Mysuru: To commemorate the 90th anniversary of the Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya and Mahashivaratri, the Brahma Kumaris will host Shivaratri Mahotsav and a large-scale spiritual exhibition—Jnana Vijnana Divya Darshana Mela, from Feb 8 in front of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan on Hunsur Road.Speaking to reporters, Brahma Kumari Lakshmi said the main attraction of the exhibition will be a grand replica of Gujarat’s iconic Sri Somnath Temple. The exhibition will feature a wide range of spiritually enriching and socially relevant segments. These include awareness initiatives against drug abuse, a 5-minute computer-based Mind Spa, and a pictorial gallery promoting harmony in family life. Mysuru minister HC Mahadevappa will inaugurate the event.The Ishwariya Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented to writer CK Shivappa and internationally acclaimed Bharatanatyam exponent Vasundhara Doraswamy.The celebrations will also mark the 60th anniversary of the Mysuru sub-zone on Feb 11, followed by an interfaith meet for world peace on Feb 13. Mahashivaratri celebrations and the valedictory function will be held on Feb 15.The exhibition will run until Feb 22, and offers counselling sessions for students on concentration, goal setting, and value-based living, along with meditation camps, contemplations, lectures, and cultural programmes, she added.
