City to host Ayush fest on Jan 31, Feb 1

Mangaluru: After a decade, the Ayush department in Dakshina Kannada is all set to organise ‘Ayush Habba 2026′ to promote the traditional healthcare systems of India. The event will be held at the Dr TMA Pai International Convention Centre in the city on Jan 31 and Feb 1.Assembly speaker UT Khader on Saturday released the posters of the festival here, which will be organised by the department in association with Ayush Hospitals and Colleges, Ayush Foundation and other organisations.“The traditional healthcare systems of the nation are the contributions of our sages to the world. The two-day event will provide information on the significance of the Indian traditional healthcare systems, and the event will also focus on health and well-being. The event will provide comprehensive information on Ayush lifestyles, modern technological innovations, and various other options that people can choose from,” he said.Festival organising committee honorary president Dr Ashajyothi Rai said around 5,000 doctors, 10,000 Ayush medical students, including postgraduate and research scholars, and more than 20,000 people are expected to participate in the event. An exhibition on various aspects of the Ayush healthcare systems will be arranged through 50 stalls, she said, adding that entry is free for the public.The Ayush festivals held in 2014 and 2015 received an overwhelming response. A free wellness camp, ‘nadi pariksha’ for registered participants using the nadi tarangini device, treatment guidance, dietary guidance, Ayush care for senior citizens, stress management sessions, and an Ayush food festival are some of the highlights of the festival. Further, the ‘mahila swastya habba’ will focus on the management of health issues that women face. An Ayush beauty festival, heart healthcare awareness, Ayush scientific workshops, and sessions on organic food will be organised as part of the event, she said.The Ayush hackathon and ideathon to be held as part of the festival will be a collaborative initiative between Ayush colleges, engineering colleges, and Ayush startups, providing a platform to discuss and decide on new innovations, and use technology for Ayush. An entrepreneurs’ meet, a diabetic food festival, a separate Ayush festival for Gen Z, and the promotion of Ayush wellness tourism are other features of the festival, she added.
