Kodagu SP warns against illegal activities during New Year celebrations

Madikeri: Kodagu SP K Ramarajan, on Tuesday, warned owners of homestays, resorts and hotels that they will face legal action if they encourage any illegal activity on their premises during the New Year celebrations.He said the New Year celebration by event organisers or individuals should not disturb the public or fellow residents and should not become a public nuisance. Music is allowed to be played till 10pm on Dec 31 under restricted decibel levels, and loud music is not allowed. Serving alcohol without permission is restricted.The SP said the public may reach out to police on 112 to complain about any disturbance. If any drug peddling activity or disturbances to girls were observed, the public may inform police. Organising a rave party is not allowed anywhere. He said a special police force will be deployed in all tourist spots, including Raja Seat, Abbi Falls, and other crowded areas, including bus stand junctions.
