Ballari: Brucepet police have registered a case regarding an incident wherein ganja was concealed in balls, secured with tape, and thrown onto the grounds of Ballari Central Jail.On Dec 16, a jail staff member on patrol spotted a tape-wrapped ball near the jail wall and delivered it to the jailer. CCTV footage from the location allegedly captured an unidentified individual tossing the object into the prison yard.Following a search of the area where the first ball landed, another similar ball was found. Upon opening both, officials discovered a substance believed to be marijuana inside.The police indicated that they are working to identify the perpetrator, and inmates currently housed in the jail are being interrogated as part of the investigation. Nevertheless, the jail authorities declined to comment on the incident.It is worth noting that there have been previous reports of some inmates living a lavish lifestyle inside the jail. Videos showcasing their extravagant living conditions went viral, leading to a crackdown on such illegal activities.
