Mangaluru: Providing quality education and healthcare to children is the duty of both the govt and society, said Dakshina Kannada deputy commissioner Darshan H.The DC visited the upgraded Govt Higher Primary School in Kuthlur village, Belthangady taluk, where he interacted with young children and offered guidance.He engaged with the children in the classroom, offering them advice. Introducing himself as the DC who grants holidays to schools during heavy rains, he praised the school’s charming environment nestled in beautiful, serene nature.He commended the students for being fortunate to have a disciplined school with a peaceful atmosphere, playground, flower garden, cleanliness, excellent teachers, and supportive community members. He mentioned the golden opportunity they have to enjoy the lush surroundings and beautiful hills every day and reminisced about the challenges of receiving primary education in rural Chikkamagaluru.He advised the students to always respect and be grateful to their parents and teachers who nurture and guide them into becoming cultured and civilised citizens. He encouraged them to pursue higher education with the support of the govt and society, achieve high positions, and lead a meaningful life as exemplary citizens.On the occasion, he inaugurated a purified drinking water unit at the school, donated under the CSR fund of BASF, a chemical company based in Mangaluru, and planted a sapling in the school premises.Belthangady tahsildar Prithvi Sanikam, BASF site engineer Srinivas Pranesh, HR officer Santosh Pai, and others were present.
