Madikeri: Mysore MP Yaduveer Wadiyar on Thursday supervised the preparations for Madikeri Dasara and met with committee office bearers to ensure smooth coordination. Yaduveer visited several local temples where he participated in special pujas. He began his temple tour at Sree Kote Mahaganapathi Temple and continued to Kundurumotte Sri Chauti Mariyamma, Dechur Sri Ramamandir, Pete Rama Mandira, Karavale Bhagavathy, Kote Mariyamma, Dandina Mariyamma, Kodandarama, Kanchikamakshi, and Chowdeshwari temples. Speaking to reporters, Yaduveer explained that his visit was in line with the traditional practices followed in Mysuru during Dasara. He said he prayed for the success of the rituals at these temples. On the occasion, the Dashamantapa committee, which has been working tirelessly for the past four months, to set up the mantapa, appealed to Yaduveer to ensure that the use of loudspeakers during the Dasara procession is not hindered. They said that the police-enforced regulations are proving to be an obstacle, though they ensured that all precautions were being taken to prevent any untoward incident. Yaduveer also visited Sri Omkareshwara Temple in the city and took part in a special puja. Meanwhile, Kodagu SP K Ramarajan issued a directive to all mantapa committees and the main Dasara committee to comply with the Environment (Protection) Act 1986 and Noise Pollution (Regulation and Control) Rules 2000 by ensuring that noise levels are kept in check during the celebrations.
