Chairing the ‘Disha’ review meeting on Saturday, Joshi criticised the agriculture and horticulture departments for failing to accurately assess crop losses in Alnavar and Kalghtagi taluks. He pointed out that chilli and onion crop losses were overlooked during the survey. He instructed officials to ensure that all affected farmers are included in the compensation list. Joshi also said he had received multiple complaints about govt hospitals directing patients to buy medicines from the market. He emphasised that doctors at the govt hospitals must prescribe only those medicines available in stock and ensure they are given free of cost. If there are shortages, the matter should be brought to the notice of the elected representatives, he said. Joshi expressed displeasure over the lack of updates regarding buildings constructed under central funding in the animal husbandry and veterinary department. He also pointed out that Nand Ghar Anganwadi buildings, constructed under the women and child development department, had been left unused despite being ready for years. He directed the officials to inaugurate and utilise these buildings immediately.
