Bengaluru: Saurabh Chandra, CEO, Ati Motors, Friday encouraged students to embrace artificial intelligence (AI) as a tool to solve problems and create values across industries. He was speaking at The Times of India’s Leaders on Campus initiative. The event was hosted at Kristu Jayanti (Deemed-to-be University). Chandra, while noting that AI’s evolution was uncertain, said it offered vast opportunities. He explained how neural networks, trained on examples rather than fixed algorithms, have transformed problem-solving and reduced reliance on large teams. However, he cautioned that AI’s limited accuracy is not always sufficient for critical areas like driving or medicine, though it is effective in marketing and customer support. In a fireside chat with Edward Aloysius, registrar, Kristu Jayanti, Chandra urged students, especially non-technical ones, to become “power users” by asking the right questions to harness AI effectively. Entrepreneurs, he said, should combine business sense with AI tools as smaller teams can now scale faster with lower funding requirements.Using robotics as an example, he highlighted how innovation faces challenges when digital integrates with physical. Despite concerns about inequality, Chandra stressed that embracing AI, rather than resisting it, will open global opportunities and fuel growth.—–Quote: Our association with The Times of India has been long, and our students have been regular readers.
