BJP activists protest Dasara invite to Banu

Madikeri: Kodagu BJP activists on Monday held a protest in Somwarpet condemning the state govt for inviting the International Booker Prize winner, Banu Mushtaq, to inaugurate the Dasara festival in Mysuru.The protesters accused the Congress of disrespecting Hindu sentiments. Former MLA Appachu Ranjan stated, “Banu Mushtaq is anti-Kannada, and by inviting her to inaugurate the Dasara, the state govt is oppressing Hindu sentiments.” DCM DK Shivkumar has gone one step ahead by claiming that the Chamundi Hills do not belong to Hindus, he stated.We have no objection if Banu Mushtaq respects and follows the festival rituals of this land and takes part in the inauguration after practising all the religious rituals, including puja offerings, he stated.The protesters alleged that the state govt consistently disrespects Hindu sentiments. MLC Suja Kushalappa also took part in the protest.
