Bengaluru: A 17-year-old commerce student succumbed to injuries and two of her classmates riding pillion were injured when a speeding truck rammed their scooter on Kuluvanahalli Main Road near Dobbespet Sunday evening.The deceased is G Divya, a resident of Gandaragoolipura village in Nelamangala. A I PU student at Hoysala College in Nelamangala, Divya, along with other classmates, had gone to Shivagange and Mandaragiri Hill in Dobbespet for a picnic. Her classmates, Niriksha and Bhumika, are recovering in hospital, police said. “Niriksha was riding triple on her father’s gearless scooter when the truck rear-ended it. As Divya fell to the right, the truck mowed her down. The driver fled the scene, leaving behind the vehicle,” a police officer said. Divya is survived by her agriculturist father, Govindaraju, her homemaker mother and her college-going elder sister.
