Delhi University begins CSAS UG 2026 Phase II; preference filling opens, first seat allotment on July 16
Delhi University has activated the preference-filling stage under CSAS UG 2026, allowing registered candidates to finalise programme and college choices after completing subject mapping. Students can revise their preferences until July 11, while the first admission list will be released on July 16. Admissions will be carried out based on CUET UG 2026 performance and eligibility criteria.

The University of Delhi (DU) has initiated Phase II of the CSAS for Undergraduate admissions 2026. Eligible students who have registered in Phase I can now provide their preferences for programmes and colleges. Preference filling for CSAS will begin on July 3 and will end at 11:59 PM on July 11. Applicants will have to undergo the process of subject mapping and prepare their programme-college preference list during the preference filling process. In the current phase of the CSAS, candidates need to map their Class 12 subjects to CUET UG 2026 test papers. It is imperative for DU that applicants have taken the CUET UG 2026 test in the same subjects in which they passed Class 12 examinations. The process of subject mapping is applicable to language subjects as well as domain subjects.

Candidates can submit multiple programme-college preferences

Delhi University has allowed applicants to select as many programme-college combinations as they are eligible for. However, the institution has emphasised that the sequence of preferences is one of the most critical factors in the allocation process.Students have been advised to prepare their preference list carefully after evaluating their interests, eligibility, and admission prospects. The university has also enabled candidates to rearrange their choices multiple times before the deadline. Only the preferences saved on the portal before the closing time will be considered for seat allocation.

First allocation list to be released on July 16

The university will announce the first CSAS UG 2026 allocation list at 5 pm on July 16. Candidates who receive seats in the first round must accept their allotted seat between July 16 and July 18. Colleges will complete the verification of applications until July 20, while the last date to pay the admission fee for the first round is July 21.The second allocation list is scheduled to be released on July 25. Candidates allotted seats in the second round must complete the admission fee payment by July 28.

Admissions based on CUET UG 2026 scores

Delhi University is offering admission to 73 undergraduate programmes along with 150 combinations under the Bachelor of Arts (BA) programme through the CSAS portal this year. Admissions will be conducted entirely on the basis of CUET UG 2026 scores, subject to programme-specific eligibility requirements. The university has also retained the upgrade and freeze options for admitted candidates. Students who accept an allotted seat and complete the admission formalities can either freeze their admission or opt for an upgrade to a higher-preference programme or college in subsequent rounds without losing their existing seat, provided they meet the required conditions.

What applicants should keep in mind

As the process of fulfillment of preferences has begun, candidates are now at one of the most important stages of admissions into Delhi University for undergraduate programs. Though the scores in CUET UG will help candidates be eligible, the allotment will depend very much on how the preferences are managed by them. This is why students have been advised to check the subject mapping correctly, as well as examine each preference before filling it.
