Temple priest arrested over abusive remarks against Karnataka chief minister

Bengaluru: The city police on Saturday night arrested an assistant priest of a temple for allegedly making abusive remarks against chief minister Siddaramaiah over the decision to invite Booker Prize winner Banu Mustaq to inaugurate the upcoming Mysuru Dasara.The accused, identified as Gururaj Achar, is attached to a temple in Kengeri satellite town. Police registered a suo motu case after a video of his comments went viral online. “In an interview with a private online news channel, Achar criticised CM’s decision and used derogatory language. He was taken into custody and will be released on station bail later,” a senior police officer said.
