Bengaluru: Bangalore University has revised admission regulations for its PhD programmes. Henceforth, 70% weightage will be given to postgraduate exam score, which is a combination of PG marks and entrance test, and 30% for interview.Governor and BU chancellor Thaawar Chand Gehlot recently approved “Regulations Governing the Degree of Doctor of Philosophy of Bangalore University-2024”. The new regulations incorporate an interview component for PhD admissions, which will constitute 30% of the total score. The university will convert the marks scored in PG course and marks in entrance test for the remaining 70%.Previously, PhD admissions gave equal weightage to PG marks (50%) and entrance test (50%). The notification for PhD admissions for academic year 2025-26 will be released in Sept.
