KOLKATA: A Trinamool worker accused of extortion took shelter under a huge pile of clothes kept inside a godown of the state government organization “Tantuja” at Amta in Howrah on Saturday when BJP workers of Basantpur Panchayat in Udaynarayanpur came looking for him at Amta Block 1. They spotted Brahmananda Chakrabarty at the state-owned Tantuja showroom. After this, they informed the concerned Pendro police station about the matter.A video of Chakrabarty hiding under a heap of sarees went viral.After this, the Amta police station police went to Tantuja on Saturday evening in search of Brahmananda and started a search. Finally, during the conversation, the pile of sarees on one side suddenly moved. Although there was a suspicion of an earthquake, the police came to their senses. When nothing moved anywhere else, why did only that little area move? The police became suspicious. The police asked the staff to remove those. As they slowly removed the rows of sarees, it was seen that Brahmananda was lying there, with a saree covering him on top. The Amta police station police arrested him. Later they handed him over to Pendro police station. Brahmananda was a companion of Udaynarayanpur Trinamool MLA Samir Panja. Samir Panja who is now absconding.
