Bengaluru: Airtel services across the city experienced significant outages on Sunday, leaving thousands of users without mobile and Wi-Fi connectivity for several hours.Complaints began pouring in by late morning, with service-tracking website DownDetector recording a peak of more than 6,800 reports around 12pm. Users turned to social media to flag disruptions, posting screenshots and updates. “This tweet is through Home Wi-Fi, Not #Airtel ISP. ��” wrote one user, while another reported, “There are not mobile signals for my Airtel phone in Bengaluru kindly support. Airtel WiFi also. Not working.”Although Airtel initially assured customers that services would resume within an hour, the disruption, varying in magnitude, lasted until about 3pm. The operator later attributed the failure to a temporary connectivity issue but has not issued a detailed statement on the cause.The outage, which came just days after a major network failure, affected not only Bengaluru but also several other cities, according to users. In addition to hampering basic communication, the disruption interrupted online payments, cab bookings, and work-related calls, straining daily activities for many.Customer frustration mounted as the blackout extended, with several urging the company to strengthen its backup systems and provide clearer communication during service lapses.
