Koppal DC urges people to be vigilant during Ganesh Chaturthi and Eid Milad

Koppal: Deputy commissioner Suresh B Itnal took proactive measures to ensure that no adverse incidents occur in the district during the Ganesh Chaturthi and Eid Milad festivals. He briefed the officials concerned to take adequate precautions regarding the issue.This guidance was provided during a preliminary meeting with officials from various departments, including revenue, police, Gescom, and forest, held at DC’s office hall on Friday in preparation for the celebrations.DC Suresh Itnal emphasised the need for street lights to be installed on all roads, CCTVs to be set up wherever necessary, Gescom personnel to address low-hanging wires, and Ganesh Mandals to be alerted to take measures to prevent short circuits during the installation of Ganesha idols. Additionally, tahsildars and police officers from the respective taluks are to conduct meetings on this matter at the local level.“Any issues that arise should be promptly reported to their superiors. tahsildars, taluk panchayat executive officers, Gescom, fire department, forest department, and other officials must carry out their assigned tasks responsibly and collaboratively,” clarified Suresh Itnal.SP Ram L Arasiddi emphasised the necessity of setting up barricades at immersion locations for Ganpati, including Dasanal Bridge and Hulikere in Koppal, in addition to installing lighting systems and CCTVs.“All information related to law and order should be relayed to the police. Officers are required to ensure that the public gathering for Ganesh darshan are not inconvenienced and that law & order is upheld within their areas of responsibility,” he remarked.ADC Sidrameshwara, ZP deputy secretary T Krishnamurthy, ASP R Hemanthakumar, DSPs Muthanna Savaragol and Siddanagouda Patil, along with tahsildars and taluk panchayat executive officers from the environment and forest departments, were present at the meeting.Belagavi police issue SOP for Ganeshotsav mandalsBelagavi: The Belagavi city police issued a standard operating procedure (SOP) for sarvajanik Ganeshotsav mandals in the city. Several strict measures have been taken this time when compared to past years. Speaking to mediapersons on Friday, city police commissioner Bhushan G Borase said that, so far, 1,035 applications concerning the installation of Ganesha idols had been received. Out of these, 1,000 Ganesh mandals were given permission. Strict instructions were given to follow the rules starting from the installation of the idol till its immersion. While DJs are allowed, the sound should not exceed 75 to 85 decibels. Using laser lights is not allowed. In the wake of health and death issues due to the use of DJ loudspeakers and laser lights, strict rules will be followed. Action will be initiated against violations of rules regarding DJs and lasers, he said.
