In response to a dire situation, students from B Hosalli village in Koppal taluk protested by blocking the Hosalli-Bahadur Bandi Road for one hour on Friday, demanding its repair. The 13-km-long road is in a state of severe disrepair, making it difficult for even large vehicles to navigate. Smaller vehicles and two-wheelers face greater challenges, while pedestrians found it nearly impossible to cross the road due to slush.Residents of B Hosalli have been urging to make the stretch suitable for vehicular traffic and even raised the issue with their elected representatives. “However, no action has been taken so far,” stated Hanumanthappa Kuri, a village leader who participated in Friday’s protest.Frustrated by the lack of response, students organised an impromptu protest on the B Hosalli-Bahadur Bandi Road on Friday. “It is become hard for us to attend school every day. We can hardly walk on this road. The authorities and the local MLA have not addressed our requests to fix it,” said the villagers and students. The protest involved blocking the road for over an hour with pieces of wood and stones placed across, alongside several vehicles parked to obstruct traffic.
