Haveri: Thieves stole gold and cashin a house burglary in Ranebennur town recently. Thieves allegedly broke into a house owned by Srinivas Hallalli, and absconded with gold, cash, and other valuables. The incident occurred in Kanthi Beereshwara Nagar of Ranebennur while Hallalli was in Bengaluru. It is suspected that thieves broke the main lock and interlock using an iron rod and entered the house between 1.30am and 7.45am between Aug 18 and 21.After entering the bedroom, they accessed the treasury and looted it. They stole 200 grams of gold jewellery and Rs 4,50,000 in cash, with the total value amounting to Rs 21.3 lakh. A case was registered at Ranebennur Town police station, and an investigation is ongoing.
