Bengaluru: In a heartwarming display of community spirit, residents from around 30 apartment complexes joined hands to provide life-changing support to their operational staff.Residents collaborated with Manipal Hospital, Kanakapura Road, on Wednesday to offer 10 free surgeries to essential workers, including gardeners, electricians, plumbers, security personnel, domestic helps and cleaners. The initiative saw participation from a diverse range of residential communities, including Prestige Falcon City, Sobha Forest View and Mantri Serenity. Each community nominated individuals in need of medical attention.“Our goal is to honour the trust of our neighbourhood communities while ensuring customer centricity remains at the heart of our care,” said a representative of the organising committee.Among the beneficiaries was eight-year-old Subash, a student of Govt School, Kaggalipura, who suffers from a rare condition called tracheoesophageal fistula, an abnormal connection between the trachea (windpipe) and esophagus (food pipe). His family, unable to afford the surgery, received support from Chain Makers of Kanakapura Road (CMKR), a federation of 150 associations who nominated Subash.
