Mangaluru: Swami Vivekananda, who spread Indian religion and culture, the soul of India, all over the world, reformed society by keeping religion as its foundation. Today’s generation is changing as per his dream. India is spreading its fame in all fields, said Srikanth Shetty, Karkala, Chief of Hindu Jagarana Vedike, Karnataka South province.He spoke as the chief guest at the Viveka Jayanti programme held on Monday at the Vivekananda College campus in Nehru Nagar, conducted by Vivekananda Vidyavardhaka Sangha, Puttur.“India introduced the principle of victory over death to the world, and it will never be destroyed. Even today, the immortal story of India, the Somnath Temple, stands before our eyes. The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh completed 100 years. The song Vande Mataram resounded for 150 years. This is a testament to the vitality of India,” he said.Before independence, revolutionary heroes like Khudiram Bose, Pritilata Waddedar, and Bipin Chandra Pal sacrificed their lives for the country’s liberation. Swami Vivekananda was an inspiration to all of them. He said that Vivekananda’s literature is a source of inspiration for Indians.The event was presided over by Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat, president, Vivekananda Vidyavardhaka Sangha, Puttur. He said that many people attempted to conquer the world, but Swami Vivekananda was the only one who did so without shedding a single drop of blood. Instead of violence, he conquered minds and hearts through spiritual wisdom. With a strong spirit of patriotism, Swami Vivekananda carried India’s spiritual message to every corner of the world and is an inspiration for everyone to awaken their inner self.A cultural programme was presented on the theme ‘Centenary Vision of the RSS’, showcasing the route of development of the RSS through the ages.
