Ballari: Gangavathi MLA Gali Janardhana Reddy expressed dissatisfaction over what he termed a delay in the arrest of Ballari City MLA Bharath Reddy and his associate Sathish Reddy, who were implicated in recent clashes and a shooting incident.Speaking to reporters on Friday at his home, Janardhana Reddy said, “There is an effort to dilute the case of Congress worker Rajashekhar Reddy, who lost his life in the Banner clash. The bullet that killed Rajashekhar Reddy was fired by the gunman of MLA Bharath Reddy and Sathish Reddy. I shared a video regarding this. Additionally, I released another video highlighting the attempts to conceal the funeral. The govt must take this case seriously and act to apprehend the suspects.” On suspicious activities during the funeral, Janardhana Reddy said, “Somu, who was overseeing the crematorium, was contacted by an individual, Raghu, and was instructed to open the pit where the body was interred. Subsequently, the police who arrived at the location documented the scene with photos and videos.”“Eventually, Rajashekar Reddy’s body was cremated using electric means, without using wood. MLA Bharath Reddy and his associates orchestrated this to ensure that no evidence related to the murder case could be discovered,” he alleged. He said that on Jan 6, he lodged a complaint against ASP Ravikumar, DSP Nandareddy, and MLA Bharath Reddy, alleging their involvement in collusion and conspiracy. “However, the police only provided an endorsement indicating that my complaint will be appended to a previous one,” he remarked.According to Reddy, he provided the police with video evidence and relevant information, but they did not take any action. He said that despite the arrival of a new DIG, the suspects remained at large. He said the gunfire during the altercation was not accidental and was a deliberate act, and that MLA Bharath Reddy and Satish Reddy must be apprehended without delay.Alleging that the govt backed MLA Bharath Reddy and that there was little hope for justice through the police and CID investigation, he said the case should be transferred to the CBI for a thorough investigation.“I made it clear that true justice can only be achieved by filing a separate FIR. I communicated to them that the endorsement does not align with legal standards and procedures,” he added. He warned of legal action, saying he would seek court intervention and file a private complaint if the FIR was not registered.Janardhana Reddy announced plans for a large rally and protest in the city to denounce the incident. “The date for the demonstration will be revealed in a day or two, and prominent state leaders will also take part,” he noted.Former MLA Somasekhar Reddy was present at the press conference.
