Kalaburagi: Rajesh Kamble has been appointed as the superintendent of Kalaburagi Central Jail in the wake of a viral video of the ‘royal hospitality’ being enjoyed by some inmates in the jail on the outskirts of Kalaburagi city. Rajesh Kamble, who was working as assistant superintendent of Ramnagara Jail, was promoted and posted as superintendent of Kalaburagi Central Jail. However, it is known that the current superintendent, Dr Anita, has not been assigned to any place, and no separate order has been received from the govt in this regard so far. A few days ago, a video of gambling, smoking and drinking in Kalaburagi Central Jail went viral. Earlier, a video of RD Patil, the kingpin accused in the PSI recruitment scam went viral. An investigation team headed by additional inspector general of prisons PV Ananda Reddy was formed, and a comprehensive investigation was ordered in connection with the viral video case involving prisoners. The case is currently under investigation. Meanwhile, director general of police (dgp) prisons Alok Kumar visited Kalaburagi Jail on Saturday and inspected it.
