Mandya: In the wake of missing files reported at the Induvalu gram panchayat in Mandya taluk, Mandya zilla panchayat chief executive officer KR Nandini directed all gram panchayats in the district to establish well-equipped record archives by Jan 31.She said the initiative aimed to strengthen record management and prevent recurrence of such lapses.Addressing a video conference at the zilla panchayat here on Friday, she said 129 gram panchayats have already set up archives. Highlighting the importance of archives, Nandini said they were crucial for systematically collecting documents required for the newly implemented e-Swathu software and for providing information to the public within prescribed timelines.Reviewing key schemes, she directed officials to prepare and submit the Mahatma Gandhi NREGA action plan for 2026-27 by Jan 15 and ensure timely disbursement of material costs so that no grants lapsed. She also instructed officials to accelerate progress under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and achieve 100% targets for 2025-26. She further emphasised optimal utilisation of the 15th Finance Commission funds, improvement in tax collection, timely payment of beggar and library cess, and strict adherence to Swachh Bharat Mission guidelines, including geo-tagging of toilets and completion of greywater projects.The meeting was attended by deputy secretaries Shivalingaiah and Lakshmi P, along with other district officials and PDOs.
