Ballari: CBI officials conducted a raid on Wednesday at the houses of Vishwanath and Maruthi, close aides of former minister B Nagendra, in Ballari.A team of four officers searched Vishwanath’s residence on Bengaluru Road and Maruthi’s house in Hussein Nagar, examining various documents. The raid was reportedly connected to the multi-crore scam involving the Valmiki Development Corporation, with police sources indicating that both Vishwanath and Maruthi were implicated in the case.According to sources, Vishwanath looked after Nagendra’s financial affairs, while Maruthi was handling the housework and daily arrangements.The officials were said to review documents and other important information related to the financial affairs. As Vishwanath was absent during the raid, his brother Mahesh was taken to Bruce Pet police station to assist in gathering information.CBI officials spent several hours searching the properties and were expected to confiscate documents.
