Davanagere: Vidyanagar police in Davanagere arrested four more suspects in connection with the seizure of 290g of drugs in the city, taking the total number of arrests to eight. The newly arrested suspects are Anwar Bhasha, Paras, Krishnamurty and Dhoni alias Manjunath. Police said they are in judicial custody.SP Uma Prashanth said four more suspects were arrested, bringing the total number of arrests to eight. The newly arrested individuals were purchasing drugs from those previously arrested persons and were also found to be consuming drugs. “They are placed in judicial custody, and the investigation is going on,” the SP said. “Police operation against drugs in Davanagere will continue, especially with the New Year celebrations approaching. If the public notices any drug sales or consumption, they should immediately inform police,” the SP requested.Vidyanagar police raided a gang selling drugs. During the raid on Dec 22, Vedamurthy SG, 53, along with Rajasthan natives Ram Swaroop, 33, Dholaram, 36, and Dev Kishan, 35, were arrested. Police seized 290g of narcotics, including MDMA and synthetic drugs, worth lakhs, from the arrested individuals.
