Udupi: Minister for transport and muzrai Ramalinga Reddy said that the govt will establish an authority to manage the Kollur Sri Mookambika Temple after the end of the current management committee’s tenure.The minister was speaking after inaugurating the new KSRTC bus stand at Byndoor on Saturday. He said that though there is a demand for the establishment of an authority for the Kollur temple, the present committee has been in place for only a year. Necessary steps will be taken at the govt level to establish an authority for the temple after the present committee’s tenure. The bus stand in Byndoor will be renamed as ‘Mookambika Bus Stand,’ he said.While the tender process to procure 900 buses has already been completed, preference will be given to Udupi and Mangaluru, where more vehicles will be introduced, he said.MLC Manjunath Bhandary, Byndoor MLA Gururaj Gantihole, Udupi District Guarantee Scheme Implementation Authority chairman Ashok Kumar Kodavoor, senior divisional controller of KSRTC Mangaluru division, Rajesh Shetty, and others were present.
