Mandya: In a tragic road accident reported late Thursday night, two men lost their lives and another sustained injuries after their car rammed a stationary container truck on the service road of the Mysuru–Bengaluru highway near Gejjalagere in Maddur taluk.Ashok, 35, a resident of Yattaganahalli near Mandya, died on the spot due to the impact, while the car driver Govindaraju, 33, also from Mandya, succumbed to his injuries at MIMS Hospital. The third occupant, Dinesh, suffered injuries and is currently undergoing treatment at the hospital, cops said.According to the police, the trio were heading to a hotel for dinner when the accident occurred. DySP Yashwanth Kumar, CPI Naveen Kumar, and traffic PSI Rangaswamy visited the scene. Maddur traffic police have registered a case and are investigating.
