Udupi: Poornima Janardhan was honoured with the Vermeil Award at the International Philately Exhibition held in Indonesia.At the International Friendship Philately Competition and Exhibition, held at Denpasar, Bali, Poornima, a philatelist and an employee of the department of posts from the Udupi division, showcased her stamp collection titled ‘Discovering the Divine: An Exploration of Hindu Deities.‘ The exhibit scored 81 points and won the Vermeil Award.She also participated as a resource person in a seminar on philately and culture, where she spoke about the relevance of stamp collection as a hobby, and its meaningful integration with cultural heritage.Her stamp exhibit, themed on Hindu gods and goddesses, received wide appreciation from visitors and jurors alike. The exhibition was held at the State Museum in Denpasar, Bali, from Dec 11 to 14, with around 27 philatelists from across the world participating in the competition.
