2 held for sharing video of man dancing with sword on social media

Mangaluru: Kavoor police arrested two persons for allegedly creating and sharing a video on social media in which one of them is seen dancing with a sword, an act that allegedly caused fear among the public.City police commissioner Sudheer Kumar Reddy stated, a Facebook account named ‘Suresh Psy’, operated by Suresh, shared a story featuring a video of an accused Ameer Suhail, dancing to a song while holding a sword. The video was uploaded with the caption ‘VIBES’ and a white heart emoji. The commissioner said the content, circulated on social media, had the potential to intimidate the public.Based on this, Kavoor police registered a case under Section 352(2) of the BNS along with Sections 4 and 25(1)(a) of the Indian Arms Act and Section 66 of the Information Technology Act. Both Suresh and Ameer were arrested by police. Police on Saturday seized a sword used in the reel and mobile phones used to record and share the video on social media.Ameer Suhail, 28, is a resident of Bunder, and Suresh, 29, is a resident of Kavoor. The arrests were made by a team led by Kavoor police inspector Raghavendra M Byndoor, under the guidance of Mangaluru North sub-division ACP Srikanth K, with police sub-inspector Mallikarjuna Biradar and others.Provocative Post: Accused taken into custody from Calicut International AirportCity police commissioner Sudheer Kumar Reddy CH said that Bajpe police registered a suo motu case after a provocative post was uploaded on an Instagram handle named ‘sdpi-2025′. Police identified the accused as Abdul Khader Nehad, 27, a resident of Bantwal taluk who was working in Saudi Arabia. Following the registration of the case, a lookout notice was issued against him. On Sunday, when the accused arrived at Calicut International Airport, he was taken into custody by police.
