Hubballi: Vivek Thontadarya, a Hubballi-born technology and management consultant now based in London, has been honoured with a prestigious National Award for Project Excellence for technology and digital innovation, regarded as the ‘Oscars of Tech’ in the UK’s northeast region.Thontadarya’s initiative, Your Apprenticeship, earned the Project Excellence Award 2025. As senior delivery manager and project management consultant, he oversaw the project from its initial discovery phase to live rollout and benefits evaluation. Speaking to TOI, he explained that the project involved coordinating a complex ecosystem comprising the UK govt’s department for education policy and product teams, along with four major IT vendors, including Scrumconnect Consulting, Talent International and Fujitsu UK.“The app is now the official UK govt digital platform that streamlines how young people search for, apply to and manage apprenticeships, as well as how employers post vacancies and recruit talent,” Vivek said. “With more than 850,000 active apprentices across the UK, the service is already supporting thousands each week. This award signifies that an independent panel of industry experts has recognised it as one of the finest digital transformation projects delivered anywhere in the UK this year,” he added.A BE graduate from Mysuru, Vivek holds additional qualifications including PGDOM (IGNOU), PGCERT (York) and an MBA (Reading). He currently serves as the managing director of Tech VAT Ltd.
