BENGALURU: Astronaut and IAF group captain Shubhanshu Shukla opened his session at Bengaluru Tech Summit 2025 Thursday with a wry comment about the city’s infamous traffic: “I travelled from the other side of Bengaluru – Marathahalli – and spent three times the duration of this presentation just getting to the venue. So you have to look at the commitment that I have.“Hours later, IT minister Priyank Kharge referenced the remark during his address at Future Makers Conclave, using it as a punchline about the city’s congestion.“Like Shubhanshu Shukla said, it was easier for him to get from space to Bengaluru, but from Marathahalli to here (Bangalore International Exhibition Centre, some 30km away) was a little difficult,” Kharge said, adding, “We’ll ensure that doesn’t happen again.”
