Pic: Devamma’s house that collapsed in rural Koppal Kalaburagi/ Koppal: Incessant rain in Kalaburagi district has resulted in the death of a 55-year-old woman at Bhosaga village in Afzalpur taluk. The woman, Laxmibai Biradar, was asleep when the walls of her house collapsed on her fatally in the early hours of Saturday.Afzalpur tashildar Sanjukumar Dasar has requested people living in rural areas — where the rain is intense over the past one week — to leave dilapidated houses, and take shelter at schools or other secure places. Dasar rushed to the spot and directed the revenue officials to take details to give proper compensation to the bereaved family.He added the rain may continue till Aug 21. House collapses in KoppalDue to persistent rain, a house belonging to Devamma Itagi in B Hosalli village of Koppal taluk collapsed on Friday night. However, the residents escaped without injury. The collapse also resulted in damage to a nearby house.
