Hubballi: Karnataka Bala Vikas Academy has set up a full-fledged studio to showcase the talent of children before the whole world at its main building in Lakamanhalli, Dharwad.Children’s Day is celebrated on Nov 14 every year. Many children, despite being talented, hardly get an opportunity to showcase them and receive due recognition. To overcome this problem, the Academy has established a well-furnished studio called ‘Jnanasiri’ exclusively for children, built on the lines of professional studios. This studio will offer all facilities that can help children reach out to more people and become popular through their talent and performances.Sangamesh Babaleshwar, president of Karnataka Bala Vikas Academy, Dharwad, said Jnanasiri will be the first of its kind studio in the state, built by the Academy for children to showcase their talent. He said that they built the studio at a cost of Rs 20 lakh through a govt agency. The studio is equipped with state-of-the-art cameras, lighting, editing, and other facilities. It features a main performing stage, auditorium, waiting gallery, sound-proof ambience, high-end sound system, and other technical equipment. There is also enough space to accommodate audience as well as performing children. The studio is ready to be inaugurated and is awaiting official confirmation from the women & child development minister.“Many children, including govt school children, Bala Mandir children, and rural and urban children, have abundant talent in dancing, singing, drama, quiz, debate, and other extracurricular activities. However, many of them do not get a proper platform to showcase their talent. Our studio will provide that platform and invite all children to showcase their artistry,” Babaleshwar said.“The talent of children will be promoted and popularised to the whole world through our Bala Vikas Vahini, an official YouTube channel of the academy, which will be launched in the next few days. We will upload all videos of the children’s performances through our channel. TA/DA and proper accommodation facilities will be provided to the parents who accompany the performing child. We have also appointed a technical team to handle the studio activities. We will also conduct programmes involving resource persons of each subject to help SSLC students solve their problems,” he added. The Academy will also hold a series of programmes such as Makkala Habba, children’s plays, debates, and other activities to mark the Children’s Day celebration until the end of Nov. He pointed out that they have listed several projects for the overall growth of children, for which they have sent a proposal seeking Rs 50 crore fund from the govt, and they are expecting the govt to approve it, Babaleshwar said.
