MYSURU: A Class 8 student in Mysuru, Karnataka, has been seriously injured in a suspected ragging incident at a private school, local police said on Sunday.Police said three senior students, all minors, allegedly assaulted the boy on 25 October, demanding money and his mobile phone, and forcing him to obey their orders. An FIR has been resgistered against the accused, school principal, headmaster and class teacher.According to authorities, the attackers took the student to a bathroom and repeatedly struck him in the genital area, causing serious injuries.The boy was treated at a private hospital following the attack. An FIR was filed on Sunday, 9 November, and a police team has been formed to investigate the case of cruelty and physical harm.DCP KS Sundarraj said the probe will also examine the actions of the school’s ragging committee and what measures, if any, were taken to prevent the incident.Police said the investigation is ongoing.
