Tea stall owner murdered in his house in Bengaluru

Bengaluru: A 40-year-old man was murdered by a scooter-borne miscreant at his house in Kachanayakanahalli near Bommasandra Tuesday afternoon.The deceased, identified as Madesh, a native of Tamil Nadu, ran a tea stall near Jigani. He came home at noon while his wife was still at the stall. The miscreant, who was carrying a toy pistol which could take plastic bullets, a metal detector-like device, two knives, a pair of scissors and a torch in a bag, entered the house and fought with Madesh over some issue. In a fit of rage, he slit Madesh’s throat with a knife around 12.30pm, police said. The miscreant escaped on his scooter. Neighbours, including Mallikarjuna, a provision store owner, who heard the duo shouting at each other in Madesh’s house, spotted the miscreant trying to escape. They ran behind his Honda Activa scooter in a bid to catch him, and Mallikarjuna managed to snatch his bag. But the miscreant escaped.Police said all valuables in Madesh’s house are intact. They suspect a known person killed him over some dispute, most likely linked to property.Madesh is survived by his wife and son, who was at school at the time of the incident.
