Mandya: An accident between a tractor and a motorcycle near N Kodihalli and Basapura in Malavalli taluk has claimed the life of Mahesh, 28, son of Doreswamachari.The incident occurred on Tuesday night when Mahesh was returning to his hometown from Halaguru, police said. He sustained severe injuries and died on the spot. Halaguru police have registered a case and launched an investigation.Teen drowns in canalA 17-year-old student drowned while swimming in Varuna canal near Belagola of Srirangapatana taluk on Tuesday.The victim is Chandan Gowda, son of Desigowda from Hootagalli village in Mysuru taluk. The first-year degree student had come to Belagola with five of his friends and entered the canal for a swim. Before his friends could join him, Chandan began to drown in water. After the friends alerted locals, they informed police. His body was recovered on Wednesday morning. KRS police have registered a case, and are investigating.
