Kalaburagi: As part of the ‘Vote Chor Gaddi Chod’ initiative taken up by the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC), a signature collection event took place in the city on Oct 14, organised by the Kalaburagi South constituency.MLA Allamprabhu Patil inaugurated the campaign at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Circle in the city. “Vote theft has been occurring in the country since the BJP assumed power. People are questioning why the party they supported is not winning,” claimed Allamprabhu Patil.He stated that there were initiatives to secure votes unlawfully in Mallikarjun Kharge’s constituency during the last Lok Sabha elections, and in Aland constituency ahead of the previous assembly elections. Rahul Gandhi has uncovered many such efforts.The MLA further stated, “It is confirmed that the BJP attained power at the Centre through such methods in numerous constituencies across the country. The practice of gaining power through deception must be halted. Voting fraud must be eliminated. Additionally, actions should be taken to reinstate the use of ballot papers instead of EVMs.”Mayor Varsha Jane, deputy mayor Trupti Lakhe, Lal Seth, Lingaraj T, Rajagopal Reddy, Vanisri Sagarkar, Shivanand Honagunti, Shakeel Ahmed Saradagi, Renuka Singhe, and many others took part in the campaign.
