RSS holds route march celebrate its centenary

Dharwad: The ‘Patha Sanchalan'(route march) by Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) to mark the organisation’s centenary celebrations took place at Dharwad on Sunday amid tight police security.Over 4,000 RSS cadres participated in the march. The swayamsevaks were cheered by people from either side of the road, as they passed through the main streets of the city. Roads across the entire city were decorated with flowers and safrron flags, banners and buntings. The residents had decorated their lanes with ‘Rangoli’ and showered flowers on the volunteers as they passed by.There were three batches of Swayamsevaks which took different routes after departing from KE Board’s ground near Shivaji circle on Savadatti road and joined at Alur Venkatrao circle before proceeding to Karnatak College ground.Thousands of men and women who had gathered near Alur Venkatrao Circle shouted pro-Hindu and Pro-Bharat slogansVolunteers with band sets added grandeur to the event. Deputy leader of opposition in assembly Arvind Bellad, BJP corproators, RSS sympathisers too joined the march.Heavy police deployment had been made near sensitive points. Senior RSS leader Durganna addressed the Swayamsevaks at a function organised at Karnatak College ground. Professor Ravikumar Hosamani of the University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad was the chief guest.
